Minshuku Ah-chan is a guesthouse (minshuku) 3 minutes by car from Kuroshima Port, with free pickup at the port. Official rates are ¥9,000 per person with dinner and breakfast (private bath and toilet) or ¥7,800 (shared), and room only ¥5,500 or ¥4,500. If you ask by the day before, coconut crab can be added to dinner. In summer the guesthouse runs a coconut crab night tour for guests only and a fishing boat tour, Mare Maru. Guests can use bicycles free.

“I stayed one night here in a single room. There's a fan in the room. For air conditioning you need to pay 100 yen in the machine and it lasts 2 hours. I stayed early July but it wasn't too hot so only used for the first two hours before bed. You can rent a bycicle for 500 yen for the day. They don't have snorkeling kits for rent but if you ask them, they can show you where you …”

“The owner,ah-chan, and his staff are very friendly. The breakfast and dinner provided are good. This island has beautiful sea, good for diving, snokeling. It is a small island, best to go around by a bicycle. The starry sky is amazing. Stay there for 2 nights and you will feel very relaxing.”
