This page lists every scheduled high-speed ferry from Ishigaki Port for the winter season, transcribed from the two operators' official timetables: Anei Kanko (valid October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027) and Yaeyama Kanko Ferry, YKF (valid October 2026 to February 2027). Fares are the same on both companies and include the fuel surcharge. Times can change within the season and boats are cancelled in rough seas, so check the operators' status pages on the morning you travel. Summer timetables (April to September) have more departures.
How to read the tables: A = Anei Kanko, Y = Yaeyama Kanko Ferry. Each company sells its own tickets; a ticket for one company is not valid on the other's boat (the Island Hopping Pass covers Anei boats only). Anei Kanko asks for at least 30 minutes between connecting boats.

Ohara is the southern port, for the Nakama River mangrove cruise and Yubu Island. The route is rarely cancelled. Anei's 07:30 from Ishigaki and 08:30 from Ohara run only on days when the Uehara route is cancelled; the boats marked * connect with Anei's bus between Ohara Port and Uehara Port on those days (seats are limited and the bus is for Anei ticket holders only). The 14:00 from Ohara calls at Taketomi on the way. Last boats back: 17:00 (Anei, cancellation days only) and 17:10 (YKF); on a normal day the last Anei boat from Ohara is 14:00, so plan on YKF for the afternoon.
Iriomote, Uehara Port (45–55 minutes)
| From Ishigaki | From Uehara |
|---|---|
| 07:30 A 08:00 Y 08:30 A (via Hatoma) 11:00 Y 13:30 A 13:30 Y 15:45 Y 16:00 A (via Hatoma) | 08:30 A 09:00 Y 09:30 A (via Hatoma) 12:00 Y 14:30 A 14:30 Y 17:05 Y 17:15 A |
Uehara is the northern port, for the Urauchi River, the waterfalls and Hoshizuna Beach. Eight departures a day. In winter this route is often cancelled by north winds, sometimes for several days; on those days both companies run boats to Ohara and a connecting bus to the Uehara area. Last boats back: 17:05 (YKF) and 17:15 (Anei).
Hatoma (45–75 minutes, via Uehara)
| From Ishigaki | From Hatoma |
|---|---|
| 08:00 Y 08:30 A (via Uehara) 15:45 Y 16:00 A | 09:20 Y 09:45 A 16:40 Y 16:55 A (via Uehara) |
Hatoma boats are Uehara-route sailings, so they are cancelled whenever the Uehara route is. Between Uehara and Hatoma (10–15 min): Anei leaves Uehara 09:30 and Hatoma 16:55; YKF leaves Uehara 09:00 and Hatoma 16:40.
Hateruma (60–90 minutes, Anei Kanko only)
| From Ishigaki | From Hateruma |
|---|---|
| 08:00 A 14:30 A | 09:50 A 16:20 A |
Two round trips a day. On days the large vessel "Paijima 2" operates, the crossing takes about 90–100 minutes. The 08:00 boat from Ishigaki fills up; Anei asks you to reserve on its booking page by 18:00 the day before. The route crosses open sea and can be cancelled for several days in a row in winter, so keep a spare day after a Hateruma trip.
Inter-island boats
Anei runs one boat from Iriomote Ohara to Taketomi at 14:00 (35–40 min), which lets you combine Iriomote in the morning with an evening on Taketomi. There are no other direct boats between the outer islands; for any other pair you return to Ishigaki.
Buying tickets
- Both companies have counters inside Ishigaki Port Ferry Terminal. For Taketomi, Kohama and Kuroshima you can buy on the day. Reserve ahead for Hateruma, Uehara and Hatoma.
- Anei Kanko: book and pay on its website and you can board without visiting the counter. Web bookings get a discount; round-trip and group tickets are also discounted.
- YKF: all seats are unreserved; online tickets are prepaid by credit card only.
- At Ishigaki Port the counters take cash, cards, transit IC cards and QR payments. At the island ports, Taketomi and Hatoma are cash only and Kuroshima and Hateruma take cash and PayPay, so a round-trip ticket bought at Ishigaki is the simplest.
- The Island Hopping Pass (Anei boats only; 3 / 4 / 5 days at ¥6,800 / ¥7,800 / ¥8,800, or ¥12,000 / ¥13,000 / ¥14,000 including Hateruma) is exchanged at the Anei counter at Ishigaki; the fuel surcharge is paid separately and there are no refunds.
Cancellations and the Uehara bus
Each company posts the day's status by route (normal, partly suspended, all cancelled) with the update time: Anei Kanko's "運航状況" page and YKF's "運航状況" on its top page. When the Uehara route is suspended, land at Ohara and take the operator's connecting bus to the Uehara area; Anei's bus is for its own ticket holders and YKF publishes a separate bus timetable for the winter season. When a boat is cancelled the fare is refunded, and the operators issue cancellation certificates on request. Fares and the Island Hopping Pass are not refunded for cancellations within the pass.
Timing your whole trip around these last boats is covered in How many nights do you need, and the terminal itself in Ishigaki Port Ferry Terminal.
